At the October SCYR meeting to be held on the 11th, Van Hilleary will hold a question & answer period. We will have the entire room in order to accomidate a larger crowd than usual. This is the second in our U. S. Senate candidate series. Others will be scheduled as soon as their schedules allow.

Our September meeting was one of the best we have had all year. Senator Ramsey spoke about his start into politics and the whirlwind final days of this session, with the Tennessee Waltz arrests. If you get a chance to see the Senator, do yourself a favor and don’t miss it. I have seen stand-up acts that were not as funny as the Senator. He will make a fine Lieutenant Governor, and it was an honor to meet him.

The Tennessee Young Republican Federation, Inc. ha s elected new officers to lead the organization at its biennial Convention held in Knoxville on Sept. 10. The Convention elected Drew Daniel as the Federation’s new Chairman who will serve for the next two years in that capacity.
