We are a group of Memphis & Shelby County young professionals, aged 18-40, who contribute the energy to move our Party's ideas forward, express a sincere commitment to improving our community, and produce solid Republican leadership for our Party's future. 2010 Executive and General Board Members ElectedThe following officers were elected by the Shelby County Young Republicans at the January General Meeting: Chairman- Sean McLean At Large Board Members January General Meeting- Officer ElectionsOur next monthly general meeting will be at Central BBQ on Summer at 6:30 pm on January 12th. We will be in the back room. We will be holding officer elections at this meeting. Only 2010 dues-paying members will be allowed to vote. Dues are $20 per person or $30 for married or engaged couples. You may pay your dues online or at the meeting. September 24 -YRs participate in panel at “Intro to Party Politics”Cresent Club 6075 Poplar Avenue at 6 PM Come and support Don Johnson and Evann Freeman as they represent the GOP on a panel at this event sponsored by the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals. Here is the info the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals sent out: On Thursday, Sept. 24 MULYP Presents, “An Introduction to Party Politics”, a panel discussion. Panelists include Shelby County Democratic Party Chairman Van Turner, Shelby County Republican Party Executive Director, Lakisha Watson-Moore of the Young Democrats of America, and Evann Freeman of Senator Lamar Alexander’s office. The panelists will answer your question about the political parties, and what they mean to you and to the political process. Are Democrats really the default party for African-Americans? Do Republicans only care about rich people? Hear responses to these myths and more, Thursday the 24th, 6pm at the Crescent Club (6075 Poplar Avenue).
